Dear Members and Friends of Lutheran Church of the Living Christ,
Grace to you and peace from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I hope that everyone is staying safe and warm!
Please remember that next Sunday, January 18, we will have our annual congregational meeting to approve a budget for 2015 and receive reports from 2014. That meeting will take place following worship, at about 10:15 a.m., on January 18. However, we will have copies of the annual reports available this Sunday so that you can pick those up and review them in advance if you would like.
The other thing that we will do at the January 18 meeting will be to vote for council members. This year we will need three people to serve three year terms and two people to serve one year terms. Currently Pam Steinhauser and Tim Zylka have agreed to run for the one year terms. Kim Landowski and Shelley Erdman have agreed to run for three year terms. Thank you to these dedicated individuals for their willingness to serve! That still leaves us with one three year position that will not be filled if we cannot find someone to serve by the 18th. Someone can be appointed by the council at a later date to serve, but the preferred way would be for us to have the entire group of candidates voted on at the annual meeting. If you have a willingness to serve, of if you have any questions about the expectations or the experience, please let me know as soon as possible.
I also want to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who served the council this past year. Your leadership made a huge difference in the life and ministry of our congregation! A special word of thanks goes to Sandie Smith who is completing her time of service on the council. Sandie brought a very important, thoughtful, and caring voice to the council. Her leadership on the council will be missed. But she will continue to remain a leader in the life of the congregation and her voice will continue to be heard in other ways. Thank you, Sandie!
To help you prepare for worship on Sunday:
Prayer of the Day
Holy God, creator of light and giver of goodness, your voice moves over the waters. Immerse us in your grace, and transform us by your Spirit, that we may follow after your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Flowers on Sunday are given by Bob and Sandie Smith in celebration of Renee’s birthday (1/9).

Annual Congregational Meeting - Our Annual Congregational Meeting will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2015, beginning at 10:15 a.m. At this meeting we will elect and install council members, approve a budget for the 2015 year, and receive reports from 2014.
Women’s Bunco - Our next Bunco is Tuesday, January 20th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Beverages and snacks will be provided by Sandie Smith and Renee Reckert. Please join us for a fun evening and don’t forget to bring your new or nearly new item for our prize table. Please contact Shelley Erdman 262-502-4162 with any questions.
Social Ministry - Our Social Ministry Committee had asked for cereal donations for Florist Avenue Lutheran Church in the December newsletter. They will not offer that ministry this year. All donations will be taken to the Menomonee Falls Food Pantry. They are always in need of food for approximately 100 families per week. Concerning the Menomonee Falls Area Food Pantry, here is a list of the most currently needed foods. Food items can be placed in boxes in our narthex or fellowship hall. If you wish to volunteer for a shift at the Menomonee Falls Food Pantry on January 20or 22, 2015, a sign-up sheet will be posted soon.
