Dear Members and Friends of Lutheran Church of the Living Christ,
Grace to you and peace from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Thanks for visiting the congregational website, www.lclcgermantown.org, last week. We had a great number of “unique” visits (over 140) on Friday alone. I plan to send you there again from time to time, but this week’s email follows the more traditional format. Although I still encourage you to visit our site, it won’t be necessary this week given that the “usual” information is included below.
Thank you to Barry Landowski for taking care of worship leadership and the message on both Sunday and Monday! I look forward to seeing you next week.
Lora Mickelson, our Christian Education council representative, has the following update from the most recent Sunday School offering campaign: Thanks to everyone who contributed to the “Buck-A-Chick” fundraiser. We will be contributing $79 dollars towards providing chicks to needy families. Please stop and take a look at the chicks displayed on the walls of the Sunday School wing. We beat our total chick count from last year by $25! Great job everyone!
To help you prepare for worship on Sunday/Monday:
Prayer of the Day
Teach us, good Lord God, to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labor and not to ask for reward, except that of knowing that we do your will, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
Psalm 69:7-10, 16-18
Flowers on Sunday are given by John and Linda Stehman.

July 4th Celebration - We have all the Coke, Diet Coke and Sprite needed. We still need Mountain Dew, regular and diet, A&W Root Beer, regular and diet, and WATER. Last year we sold out of Root Beer first. Diet A&W was popular because it was a caffeine free soda. Also need ice - If willing please freeze water in 2 liter or gallon bottles/jugs. We usually buy 20 bags of ice at $3.49 a bag. I will also have an "ice cube" on the coffee table at church for donations for the needed ice. Please don't forget to sign up for the pies - we average 30 pies, and sell all for a nice profit. Hoping for a nice sunny 80 degree day! Thanks - Your Parish Life Committee
Florist Avenue Summer Lunch Program - We will be helping serve lunch for the Florist Avenue Lutheran Church Youth Summer Lunch Program the week of July 7th to 11th. The idea is that we prepare lunch for approximately 26 children and 6 adult staff at their big kitchen. We serve it to them at noon 4 days in a row, then Friday have prepared bag lunches for their field trip. We really need volunteers to help with this. We usually have enough volunteers for any one person to work one day (more if you wish) with another experienced volunteer. If you are interested in getting involved in a rewarding program of short duration, please give me a call, Linda Stehman at 414-434-0932. We also need food donations so see the sign-up sheet in the narthex for a full list of what we will need. Please have these foods at church by Sunday July 6th. Thank you.
Blood Drive - On Thursday July 10th from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Lutheran Church of the Living Christ along with St. John’s UCC & Our Savior UCC will be hosting a blood drive to benefit the American Red Cross. Every day hospital patients rely on generous blood donors – like you – for the precious blood products they need to treat a wide variety of medical conditions. If you are interested in participating in our blood drive as a donor or to volunteer to help the day of the drive, please contact Tim Zylka at 262-361-2447 or email@example.com.
Bunco Night - July 15th from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. All women of the church and their friends are invited. Please remember to bring an almost new item for our prize table. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Contact Shelley Erdman at 262-502-4162 with any questions.
Have a blessed weekend!
