Dear Members and Friends of Lutheran Church of the Living Christ
Grace to you and peace from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful celebration with family and friends. The Spies family had a great day enjoying time with friends and family and, of course, eating lots of food.
This Sunday the choir will be singing at our worship service at 9:00 a.m. Please gather at 8:40 a.m. to practice. Choir practices during the month of December have been changed to Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Please note that change for your schedules.
There will not be Sunday School classes this Sunday. However, we will have classes on Sunday, December 7.
To help you prepare for worship on Sunday:
Prayer of the Day
Stir up your power, Lord Christ, and come. By your merciful protection awaken us to the threatening dangers of our sins, and keep us blameless until the coming of your new day, for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Psalm 80:1-7, 17-19
I Corinthians 1:3-9
Flowers on Sunday are given by Hank and Jackie Schroeder.

Holiday Care Packages - The youth will once again be putting together care packages for college students and members of our congregation who are currently serving in the military so that they can get these packages for the holiday season. If you would like to contribute anything to these packages (ex., cookies, microwave popcorn bags, school supplies, notes of encouragement, etc.), please bring such items to the church by 6:00 PM this evening. We plan to put together the care packages beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Sunday School Christmas Program - This year’s Sunday School Christmas Program will take place on Sunday, December 14 during the 9:00 a.m. service. We hope everyone will be able to join in supporting the youth by being present at the program. The plan is for the youth to take the majority (if not all) of the “sermon” time during that service in order to present the program. The rest of the service will look like our usual Second Sunday of the month worship. Thank you for your support of our Sunday School ministry including the teachers who teach and the students who come to learn.
Women’s Ministry – Our next Ladies get together and Bible Study will take place on Tuesday, December 16 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The study will be on Dr. Jack Beck’s paper back “Understanding Your Bible.” We will be reviewing Chapters 1 and 2. We plan to have a Cookie Exchange too. If you want cookies, you can bring 2 or 3 dozen to share. See you there!
On Monday January 5th, LCLC will again be hosting a blood drive to benefit The American Red Cross. The hours of the drive will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. For an appointment please contact Tim Zylka @ 262-361-2447. Please tell a friend, family member or neighbor about our drive. Our goal is 40 units, and we’ll need a lot of help to reach that goal. “The need is constant. The gratification is instant. Give blood.”
Have a blessed weekend!
