ear Members and Friends of Lutheran Church of the Living Christ,Grace to you and peace from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
It is good to be home. I had a great retreat and wonderful vacation, but it is nice to be back home and getting back to “normal.”
Speaking of that, the sanctuary has returned to its usual look after a few weeks of functioning as the stage for the local Imagination Theatre summer musical. As always, they were an amazing group of people with whom to work. But it is great to have our usual space available for worship. And that is especially true for this Sunday. This Sunday will mark the last Sunday when our choir director, Tom Kamenick, will serve in that role. He and his family will be leaving this fall for other opportunities. But we will be blest to have him lead our choir for one more Sunday. I hope that everyone will be able to join us as we get to hear some great music, say thank you to Tom and his family, and wish him well in his future adventures and ministries.
The Men’s Ministry met last night and decided to do some work on the yard at the church in order to reduce the weeds that have been growing at the church. In order to help make this happen, we are asking for some donations of Weed and Feed – any variety from any vendor. Our thought is that anything will be better than what we have now. We are hoping to get about 20 bags of Weed and Feed in the near future so that we can get that distributed before the weather changes. If you are interested, please bring a bag or two to the church as soon as possible. We will take care of the distribution. All you need to do is bring us the Weed and Feed.
To help you prepare for worship on Sunday/Monday:
Prayer of the Day
God of all peoples, your arms reach out to embrace all those who call upon you. Teach us as disciples of your Son to love the world with compassion and constancy, that your name may be known throughout the earth, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

Romans 11:1-2a, 29-32
