Dear Members and Friends of Lutheran Church of the Living Christ,
Grace to you and peace from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I hope that everyone is having a blessed Good Friday. Please remember that to mark this special day in the church year, we will gather together for worship at 7:00 p.m. this evening.
On Sunday, Easter Sunday, the choir will be singing at the 10:30 a.m. service. The choir will be gathering together at 10:00 a.m. for practice. There will also be some special music at the 8:00 a.m. service.
The Easter sermon this year will be delivered by Dr. Jack Beck. Thank you, Dr. Beck, for sharing God’s Good News with us.
There will be a breakfast in between services that everyone is invited to attend. It looks like we have most of the items that we need for a successful breakfast. We could use some more fruit and a few “baked goods” to round out our offerings. If you would be willing to help with one of those, the youth would greatly appreciate it.
To help you prepare for worship on Sunday:
Prayer of the Day
O God, you gave your only Son to suffer death on the cross for our redemption, and by his glorious resurrection you delivered us from the power of death. Make us die every day to sin, that we may live with him forever in the joy of the resurrection, through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24
Flowers on Sunday are given by Bob Smith in celebration of Sandie’s birthday (4/22).

Big Cedar Bluegrass Band - Mark your calendar and plan to attend an evening of music at our church. Big Cedar, one of the most popular bands in this area, will present a concert of Appalachian-style Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel music. The concert will be on Friday, April 25 from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Men’s Ministry – Our next gathering will take place on Monday, April 21 beginning at 7:00 p.m. It will take place at the home of Rob Buffington, W162N10462 Auburn Lane in Germantown. All men are invited to join us for a fun evening.
April Youth Group Activity - Earth Day is on Tuesday, April 22. And this year the youth group will be marking that day by gathering at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. to do some much needed cleaning on the grounds of LCLC. We plan to be done by 3:30 p.m. Hopefully by that point the snow will be gone, and we will be able to get a little outdoor spring cleaning done. We will have some snacks and fellowship time as well. We may be able to make arrangements to go to another space to do some outdoor cleaning for another worthy place, but the primary plan is to get things done at the church as a first priority. Please see Amanda Grober, Connor Zaeske, or Pastor Spies if you have any questions.
May Women’s Gathering – LCLC Women’s Group will gather on Tuesday, May 6 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. All women and their friends are invited. It’s Bunco Night! We are almost 90% beginners, so let’s all learn together and have some FUN! Bring a nearly new item for our prize table. Snacks and beverages will be provided. Contact Shelley Erdman at (262) 502-4162 with any questions.
Menomonee Falls Food Pantry - Our next turn at the Menomonee Falls Food Pantry is Tuesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 15. Please look for the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board. Please note that the arrival times have changed for volunteering. The afternoon shift now begins at 11:45 a.m. and the evening shift begins at 4:45 p.m. Here is our schedule for the remainder of the year: August 5 & August 7 - October 28 & October 30 - January 20 & January 22, 2015. Thank you for your continued service to the Menomonee Falls Food Pantry.
Kids Closet - Our Kids Closet provides gently used kids clothing to needy families of Washington Co. The clients go to St. Mary’s clinic at set dates to get the clothing. They are short on donations for clothing and would like us to help spread the word. Their spiffy new donation bin is at St. Boniface just waiting to be filled! Or feel free to drop clothing off at our church. See their blog spot: http://ourkidscloset.blogspot.com/
Have a blessed weekend!
